Mr. Miller teaches 5th grade at AUS. This being his 21st year in the classroom, he has taught all subjects in grades 3-6. He was most recently the STEM Lab teacher and a 4th grade teacher.
Though this is his first time teaching in another country, it is not his first time living outside of the US. From 1981-1984 he lived in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia and attended school at Dhahran Academy - grades 6th through 8th.
Mr. Miller attended UNCC and did his student teaching at Matthews Elementary in a 4th grade class in the fall of 1994. In fact, Mr. Miller and Ms. O'Hare, the principal at Palisades Park, were in the same small group of student teachers (three of us!) being supervised by Dr. Louise Baucom at UNCC! Mr. Miller graduated from UNCC in December of 1994.
Mr. Miller's passion is science and teaching it! Here are some fun facts:

Where is Earlham, Iowa??? It was (still is, actually) a small town about 30 miles west of the state capital of Des Moines. It has only one claim to fame and it is a very small one: the famous actor John Wayne (think cowboys for the most part) lived there briefly as a little kid from 1910-1911.
