We began the four-day week by resuming a normal schedule during the day.  Each student was given a printout of the pledges made along with an envelope to collect the money.  Please collect the pledges and return the money as soon as possible.  I am still AMAZED that my class collectively received about $2,000 in pledges!

Literacy's focus this week is a continuation of summarizing and going over theme.  Theme is the central idea, the lesson, the overall topic of the story.  Below is a graphic that we used to discuss and determine the theme of the read-aloud book, The White Mountains:

I had the class pair up and choose a book that both partners read.  Then they decided which theme the book was based on and why.  After that, they went to their Chromebooks to fill out a form that I made and I compiled the data on the chart below:

In math, we went over factors and multiples.  I made two tutorials when I was instructing my class.  They can be found here.

I am also posting a recording of the lesson on factors and multiples that I used.  If it is well-received enough, I can add more content and post this daily.
In science, we spent one more day reviewing for tomorrow's test.  I used a site that has been very reliable for years:  Socrative.  I am going to leave the quiz up until tomorrow morning.  My Room Name is 514034.  Students can take it as many times as they like.
