Thursday, October 12th - Tuesday, October 16th, 2018

10/10/2018

Well, we once again lost two days of school due to inclement weather.  I was out Monday and Tuesday due to suffering an eye injury over the weekend.  It was a freak accident but nevertheless, it was disabling enough to require a trip to the emergency room, a CT scan (negative) and multiple days for the eye to heal enough so that I could drive, let alone function without the horrible pain that I was in.

What happened was the the plastic cap to an aerosol can somehow popped off and flew up directly hitting my cornea - right in the middle of my eyeball.  The pain was bad enough that I needed someone to take me to the emergency room.  Fortunately, I did not need eye surgery but just time to heal.  The pain was pretty severe - severe enough that I couldn't even keep my good eye open for long because it caused my injured eye to involuntarily move.  That was very painful because it felt as if there was sand in my eye.  Fortunately, the pain has since subsided and I can go longer periods of time without the use of an eye patch.  But, while my eye has been healing, I still get some blurriness so I am not fully healed yet.
