Today ends the last full month of the school year and the beginning of the final two weeks (shortened) of the school year. Today is also the last real instructional day before End-of-Grade testing that begins tomorrow.
What I did today was first do the warm-up.
After the warm-up I allowed the class to take one practice test session to prepare for Monday's final exam. This is likely to be either the last or one of the last days that we switch classes. This is still tentative so I will leave it at that.
Also, I want to thank those who have filled out the survey! I really appreciate your feedback and will definitely use it next year. If you haven't already done it, please take a few moments and fill it out below.

My annual Parent Satisfaction Survey has now gone live. Please take a few moments to fill it out since your feedback is very helpful in improving for next year. The survey is anonymous.
Today was also a testing day for the third grade. Due to testing, our schedule had to be changed to accommodate this so 4th grade had its specials from 9:30 to 10:25 which is normally when 3rd grade has it. This is fair and it is a part of what we do to help each other. Other than that, our schedule remained in the same order, just moved ahead an hour in a sense except for lunch and recess.
This is our second to last review day for the science test. Tuesday after Memorial Day will be the final one that I know of since Wednesday and Thursday of next week are our EOG days and Friday is our Field Day. I am not really anticipating doing a serious review on Friday since our schedule will likely be turned upside down. However, as long as class is in session, I will have a warm-up.
Afterwards, I had the class work on a STEMscopes assignment that both reviewed earlier material (minerals) and reinforced reading comprehension skills.
Lastly, the weekly parent email went home today since this is the end of the week. Have a safe and wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
Today marked Day 2 of the final review leading up to the science exam on Monday, June 6th. I decided to hold off on the STEMscopes material from older units (energy) since I wanted to allow the students to have time to finish their mini-posters. We will resume the STEMscopes tomorrow. Also, tomorrow's warm-up will be a full page. The reasoning behind it is twofold. First, with the exam coming up I wanted to have a few more questions covering each unit. Also, I will need more room to accommodate the graphics.
After the warm-up and poster, students were given the time to do the practice test online. I will allocate class time tomorrow, Thursday, and Tuesday of next week for the practice test. Next Wednesday and Thursday will be for the End-of-Grade tests and Friday will be field day.
