As we arrived at the end of another week, albeit a different one with the early release day, we finished up the first part of our Matter: Properties and Change unit. The first part covered physical properties of matter and ended with electrical conductivity.
But first, we did the warm-up and I am happy to report that the website which does the free text-to-speech stuff was working again, though very slowly.
Before moving on, can you do a quick survey below about the audio file? This is what students here when (most) assignments are displayed.
When we checked over the answers, I did a brief demonstration for number 2.
Afterwards, we did the final experiment. I had the students copy down the following chart into their notebooks before moving forward.
Depending on the class, some were able to begin their JA Biztown letter while others were finishing up their reading assessment from the other class. Next week is the last week before the field trip so we will be spending time getting everything else finished. Once JA Biztown is over, we will begin social studies using the text/workbook and going over North Carolina.
Lastly, the weekly parent letter was sent out. All of the weekly (and more) emails to parents have been archived here.
