Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year and to the 4th grade! This being the first day of school, it started awkward since everything is so new. Even to the students who have been at Palisades Park since the beginning, it is still a new experience given that this a new grade level in a new hallway. Students came in to a greeting on the screen with instructions. Then, they got down to working on some questionnaires and other mundane things that are always necessary at the beginning. While we did literacy and math, science and touched on social studies, it didn't involve any serious academic content. Today was a day for the students to begin getting to know me and for me to get to know my class. It was a day of being taught expectations and procedures and practicing what was taught. The students were each issued a Chromebook and for math they did an assignment in IXL. After lunch, we did a STEM activity in which students made a cotton ball launcher out of two toilet paper rolls, two rubber bands, and a pencil. Below is a copy of our weekly schedule.
