Welcome back! I'm sure that I am in the majority when I state that I watched the Super Bowl, I cheered for the Panthers, and was disappointed with the outcome. Oh well! Their motto, "Keep pounding," still applies and is something all of us can take to heart and be inspired by. We are continuing our study of the moon and this Thursday we will have the second quiz of this shorter unit. Next Wednesday is when we have the unit test scheduled and I am working on both a practice test online as well as a study guide. I am planning on having both available by this Wednesday rather than this Friday. If I can get both out tomorrow (along with the weekly parent letter) instead, so much the better! After reviewing the notes, we watched the Bill Nye the Science Guy episode on the moon. I received word that the 4th grade will go on its second field trip on March 16th (Wednesday) to Discovery Place. It will be about what we are studying now: the Earth's relationship with its moon.
In social studies, we began the next aspect of the project with famous North Carolinians. I passed out the research guide and organizer to each student. Tomorrow I will have Chromebooks available and will do my best to allow a reasonable amount of time.
