We return to a full week after Thanksgiving Break. I hope everyone's Thanksgiving was one that was filled with joy and happiness! This week will be a normal week in the sense that we will have five instructional days. This will be the first of three weeks like that. The final week of 2016 is December 19th through the 23rd though we will be in school for only three of those days. The last day, Wednesday the 21st, will be for the class parties so I am not anticipating a lot of meaningful work.
Tomorrow is the second math common assessment so today was devoted to review and preparation. I reviewed place value through interpreting remainders in long division. ![]()

For my second block class I reviewed long division but instead of remainders we did decimal quotients. For example, 5,672 รท 6 = 945.33 instead of 945 r2.

In science, we began a new unit, Energy: Conservation and Transfer. Tomorrow the students will be taking notes unless the math test takes more time than anticipated. If that is the case, then I will simply shift the plans over one day.
