We begin a new week with no math instruction due to the fall administration of the MAP test. Once students' scores are compiled, a projected scored for the spring will be calculated and it will serve as their goal. This will be for both math and reading, which is tomorrow. This will be shared with parents next month (unless requested sooner) during the parent-teacher conferences.
Once I get the confirmation as to when I can begin with the conferences, I will be notifying parents. I will again be using signupgenius.com since it works very well. It will be on a first come/first served basis so I will want to give everyone enough notice well in advance. In literacy, Mr. McDonald and I continued our lesson on context clues. When his pull-out group left, the ones in my class split up into six groups and each group was given a set of context clues task cards. We still did Caesar's English (analogies) and the read-aloud along with independent reading. Science did not happen due to MAP testing. I will do my best to do both tomorrow's activity and today's if I can.
