I have just about finished working on the sign-up for next month's parent-teacher conferences. I will send it out right before the weekly parent email. Since I teach everything this year, I only have Thursdays and Fridays available during my planning time (3:10-4:00) if you wish to meet with me at that time. I am also planning on being here all day for both teacher workdays (10/31 and 11/8).
Literacy was a continuation of context clues and we covered conjunctions for parts of speech. I showed the class the 1973 classic "Conjunction Junction" video from Schoolhouse Rock!.
In math, I continued to push subtraction of large numbers and decimals, including the tricky subtracting a decimal from a whole number. Plus, I included a mini-lesson on comparison of decimals (< > =). Here is the presentation that I used today for both literacy and math.
Science didn't happen since I wanted to make sure everyone finished up their IXL. Science lessons are being pushed back to next week.
Also, I have posted a science unit test practice. You can access it here or click "Science" on the mobile app.
