Today we did one of my favorite things in literacy which is haiku poetry. Since we are covering government, I had the students create three haiku poems, one for each branch of the government. Each student created one for legislative, one for executive, and one for judicial.
While students were re-testing in science, I had the class watch Bill Nye the Science Guy talk about volcanoes. Speaking of volcanoes, we will be doing some sort of the activity tomorrow providing students as a whole make positive behavior choices. I don't think that I will be able to use the big ones since that would involve a tremendous amount of clean-up three times during the day. Plus, there are only six so that it would have to be a group thing. Instead, each pair will get their own small cup to do it. It makes cleaning up easier and supplies can go further.
