We are exactly one week away from the unit test. While I am feeling a lot better (for the most part) on how well the students may do, I am still hitting the content hard. I am going to send out information on Socrative and the Monday evening activity in Friday's weekly email to parents as well as posting it here along with the class Facebook page. We then did a review activity in small groups: Today's activity was a writing one so I covered the grammar mini-lesson on capitalization prior to it vs. before doing social studies. Then we did a brief writing activity for the students to actually explain their knowledge of minerals, their properties, and their classification via short answers. This was actually shorter in duration than it looks.
We then moved into social studies. Students began working on the letters of the alphabet portion of the project. To give them a clear picture of how to do this, we did A today and will cover B on Thursday. Then, the students will take everything home including their binders. Work on the project will then be mostly at home....mostly. Anything done here will be taken home and inserted into the binders. Lastly, there will be no school tomorrow in observance of Veterans' Day.
