Thanksgiving break is upon us! Today was the second day of our short two-day week and while there was instruction going on, it was at a more relaxed pace. In math, we continued practicing long division. When we return from Thanksgiving Break, we will spend one day on an overall review. Tuesday is the big math test to see where everyone is and where they need to go.
In science, we did an activity reviewing the rock cycle with Mobius Strips. A Mobius Strip is a loop with one twist in it. The interesting thing about it is that no matter where you begin, if you trace over it long enough you will return to the exact place without ever once lifting the pencil. Here is a link to a video I made last year: http://www.millersclass.com/try-this-at-home.html
Lastly, the weekly email was sent out. Though this week had only two school days, I still want to maintain the weekly email habit.
That is all for today! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and safe travels if you are going out of town. Below are the day's math lessons and materials.
