Today was the second day of the reteach/enrich/retest process. My class had three different warm-ups to reinforce prior content before heading towards multiplication. Multiplying will be the focus of today and tomorrow and then I will be covering patterns on Thursday and Friday.

In literacy the students took the first common assessment. This one pertained to complex fictional passages and was not all multiple choice. Some of the questions required a more open-ended response. Yet, once again all of my students scored mastery which is anything greater than 80%. Great job!
In science, we focused on density and I did a demonstration of this by pouring into a glass jar water, rubbing alcohol, vegetable oil, corn syrup, and dish detergent. While there are activities in which you can add honey, pure maple syrup, milk, etc; I used what I had on-hand.
In social studies we will continue tomorrow with JA Biztown and our focus on financial literacy with checking accounts, savings accounts, deposits/withdrawals, etc.
