On this first day of March, we had our third of four early release days. The next and final one in on Wednesday, April 26th. Since this is now March, students will be responsible for bringing in their own pencils beginning next Tuesday (March 6th). On Monday, I will give each student a few pencils to start out with and after that, they are on their own.
In math, we continued with fractions but began something new: adding fractions with unlike denominators ONLY consisting of 10ths and 100ths. It is pretty simple when you get down to it: convert the 10ths to 100ths by multiplying by ten! For example, 6//10 when both the numerator and the denominator are multiplied by ten, you get the equivalent fraction of 60/100. Easy! ![]()

In science, the students began a mini-project on designing their own prehistoric animal. The graphic below is what I projected onto the screen.
