It is mid-week and we are in the transition period of exiting fractions and entering the decimals unit. I did tell both classes yesterday that fractions will still be used in review activities to ensure that the skills remain sharp.
After decimals we have short units on measurement (standard and metric) and geometry. Once those skills are mastered, that is it for the 4th grade curriculum and the focus shifts to a twofold emphasis: review and depth. We will spend the rest of the time going back over the curriculum but also by going deeper in which students will apply knowledge towards solving more complex math problems. ![]()

In science, the students in my class did a STEMscopes activity while the other two classes did hands-on activities. Tomorrow and Friday will be hands-on for me. What we do is rotate activities since we have only a limited amount of materials which makes sharing important.
