The first big unit test in science (Forces and Motion) was administered today. Once again, the vast majority of my class not only showed mastery (>80%) but made A's! Great job!
Tomorrow will be a reteach day for the students who did not show mastery (>80%) and an enrichment day for the rest. Friday will be the retest and second day of enrichment. On Monday, we will begin the Matter: Properties and Change unit. This is a long unit with four sections to be covered. The students will study the physical properties of matter (strength, mass, density, etc.), changes in matter due to addition or subtraction of energy in the form of heat, minerals, and then rocks.
In literacy, we continued with summarizing and theme. I did a few examples together with the class (see video below). We continued with writing with an emphasis on editing and revising. Students worked with a partner since it always helps to have a different person's perspective on things. We also did a Caesar's English mini-lesson on synonyms and antonyms.
Math was a continuation of factors and multiples but I did touch again on prime and composite. I also introduced the class to a new template for factors. I will try to get everyone a copy tomorrow.

Below are downloadable and printable copies of the work that the students did today in math:
