Now that the MAP testing is behind us until December, we can return to almost normal. I say almost because at 2:30, which is 4th grade's recess time, we had the Fun Run kickoff assembly.
This morning, instead of a prewarm-up in math I gave the class time to work on finishing up their IXL assignments that are incomplete. I sent out individual notices to parents via Class Dojo.
In literacy, Mr. McDonald and I went over context clues, which along with referencing the text, is something that they can't get enough practice on. With my group that stayed, we finished up the Jacob's Ladder activity on the story called The Blue Heron. I also am doing my best to build-in 30 minutes of independent reading to build up stamina though a lot of my students have that. It never hurts to keep at it.
In math, we continued with adding and subtracting of large numbers with and without decimals.
We did not have science today due to the Fun Run assembly. Each student was given a personalized pledge form to take home.
