Today the students took the magnetism quiz. I do emphasize the word "quiz" since it only had ten multiple choice questions. Despite it being short and only half the size of the unit test on the 22nd, I still had the students take their time and answer each question carefully.
A lot of students seemed to know the material during the reviews and I estimate that about 1/2 overall went online and took the practice test. Despite that, I know that some students can and will rush through it and make unnecessary errors. So what I did before that was to go over good test taking strategies.
I also went over the ZipGrade bubble sheet. Below is an example of what your child used to respond to the questions:
Afterwards, the quiz was administered. Despite going over the need to be careful, I did catch a few students whose grades scored lower due to bubbling in the wrong circle. I will enter the corrected grade but it is a good lesson on being careful since what is bubbled in on the EOG is what is scored.
In closing, I have to say that I am VERY IMPRESSED by the scores today! I have already entered them so you can view them now. NOT ONE STUDENT FAILED! How awesome is that?
