What We Did Today

The lesson today in math was about ordering decimal numbers.  While there are two different ways to do this, I focused on ascending order.  This is when numbers are placed in order from least in value to greatest.  The strategy taught was to line up the numbers by the decimal place, convert any whole number to a decimal (to make it easier to distinguish), and start from the numbers furthest to the left.  The further to the left, the greater the value.

In science, we read a review of mixtures, solutions, solvents, and solutions in preparation for Wednesday's activity on concentration.  In this context, concentration means the amount of solute to the solvent, resulting in a thicker or thinner solution
