We are reviewing for the math Skill Check on Thursday. This one will be on paper so students will need to write as legibly as possible. It will cover order of operations and variable expressions, including two exercises where parentheses will need to be inserted into the appropriate place in the equation to make it true. Some students who have already mastered this were given an enrichment activity of order of operations where there are negative numbers.
Science today involved using FOSSweb online resources. This involved a black box simulation and then a tutorial on scientific models. The last activity was for students to design their own black box. They got to design their own black boxes by creating a drawing of what it would look like on the inside if they were able to make one. Unlike yesterday, they got to have more resources to use. BUT, they still had to work within the limitations below or it wouldn't be as fun.
Here are the instructions... A. It needs to be a rectangle B. The "foam" pieces can be triangular, rectangular, square, or trapezoidal (attached is an image file of two trapezoid examples). C. Do not copy and paste image files, do your own drawing.
