Yesterday I was out to go to the dentist and ended up getting a root canal done. As I write this, my tooth and jaws are sore, but nowhere near the level of pain that I had to endure prior to this. I will also be out tomorrow for the follow-up appointment. Hopefully, that will be the end of it, culminating with a crown over the filling. It wasn't a terrible experience but more of an inconvenience.
In literacy, I am using the book, The Old Woman Who Named Things as a read aloud in the mini-lesson. I read the book aloud and asked the classes to reflect on how the main character changed from the beginning to the end of the story. I also asked what they thought the theme was (overall lesson or idea that the author wanted to convey to the readers). If you are interested in purchasing the book (I get no compensation for it, I just love the book), you may click on the image to go to the Amazon.com page.
Your child's MAP scores will be sent home tomorrow with the Thursday folder. Along with the report, should be a parent guide to how to interpret the report.
Students also went to their new WIN Time groups for enrichment and review with reading.
Lastly, students continued working on their science projects.
